WHO WE ARE
Detroit Youth Health Expo (DYHE) is dedicated to exposing high school students to diverse healthcare careers while helping them build meaningful connections with healthcare professionals. Through monthly programs, educational sessions, panels, networking events, mentorship, and career exploration activities, students gain insight into different healthcare pathways and the academic and professional steps needed to pursue them. DYHE also provides undergraduate students with opportunities to mentor and support high school participants throughout the Expo experience. Undergraduates can serve as near-peer mentors, facilitators, and role models while helping students navigate their interests in healthcare. In addition, undergraduate participants can engage in year-round programming specifically designed for pre-medical students, offering opportunities for professional development, networking, leadership, mentorship, and engagement with healthcare professionals. Through this model, DYHE fosters a supportive community that connects students at different stages of their healthcare journey.

A conference bringing undergraduate, medical, and graduate students together with healthcare professionals for learning, networking, professional development, and research presentation opportunities.
In collaboration with NextGen Detroit, the DYHE Mixer brings conference attendees and guests together for an evening of mingling, networking, and connection.
An immersive healthcare career exploration experience for high school students featuring educational sessions, panels, mentorship, and connections with healthcare professionals.
An evening of networking and celebration between students, mentors, healthcare professionals, partners, and the growing DYHE community.
